Discover Your Watershed

Discover your watershed.png

Watersheds hold stories of the past and present and show us the many ways in which the past shapes the present. Watersheds remind us that we are all connected to one another and to the landscape, yet some of us may not even know what watersheds are or why their health is vital to the health of people and communities.

The Discover Your Watershed series tells the story of your watershed, from past to present, and provides geospatial visualization tools to explore your watershed in three dimensional space from your computer. The series is continually under development, check back often to find your watershed.

Discover the Logan River Watershed

The first in the Discover Your Watershed series is the Logan River Watershed, where Aggies through time have found endless ways to connect to nature. Learn more about the history, hydrology, and water quality of the Logan River Watershed, explore the river from headwaters into the city, and learn how you can help protect the health of the watershed.

Developed by Abigail Bushman, in collaboration with the Logan River Observatory.

“To know the spirit of a place is to realize that you are part of a part, and the whole is made of parts - each of which is whole.”

— Gary Snyder
